50 Year Anniversary Celebration!
The West Kootenay Women’s Association’s Coordinating Collective is excited to announce our 50th year Anniversary celebration that will be hosted at the Nelson Museum on September 13 from 5pm to 7pm!
We will be celebrating the valuable work that the Women’s Centre has done in our community over the past 50 years as well as our vision for the future!
Our goal is to honor and celebrate the leaders that have played a role in starting the organization and who have given their time, talents and resources to enrich the lives of the Nelson community.
The event will be held at the museum. There will be mingling non alcoholic drinks and appetizers.
We can’t wait to see everyone there!

Changes to Women’s Centre program hours
As a non-profit organization, the Nelson and District Women’s Centre is heavily dependent on Grants and Donations to fund our programming. We have received limited funding this year and as a result we will be reducing our Drop-in Program hours to ensure that our doors stay open while we continue looking for additional funding sources. Please see below for new program delivery hours:
Effective April 29th, 2024
- The Drop-in, Resource and Referral Program: Tuesdays from 11am to 3pm.
- Crisis Support by appointment: Wednesdays from 12pm and 3pm.
- Crafternoons: Thursdays from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
- Queer Drop-in: Fridays from 3:30 to 5:30.
If you would like to book an appointment for crisis support on Wednesdays, please email info@nelsonwomenscentre.com or call 250-352-9916
