International Women’s Day Walk

International Women’s Day is Tuesday March 8, 2022.

Imagine a gender equal world.  A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.  A world where difference is valued and celebrated.  Together we can forge women’s equality.  Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

International Women’s Day is Tuesday March 8, 2022, and to honor this special day the Nelson & District Women’s Centre is hosting a walk of solidarity.  Please join us at the Women’s Centre, located at 420 Mill Street in Nelson, BC, at 10:00am.  Together we will walk through our community to gather peacefully at City Hall where Heartstrings (an all-woman ukulele group) will provide some musical entertainment before we leave to return to our Centre.  Hot beverages donated from Oso Negro Cafe and Kootenay Chai Tea Brewing Co, and baked goods prepared by staff and volunteers will be available upon our return.
